Complete Eye Exams in Morrisville, NC With Clear Chart

Clear Chart, provides a comprehensive solution for all eye chart needs for eye exams. We chose to use this innovative technology for its ease of use during an eye exam and the many benefits it can bring to our patients.

The Clear Chart is a digital chart which allows the doctor to change the letters easily and quickly in order to determine at what level a patient can accurately see. It gives the eye doctor the option to use numbers, a tumbling C or E, and pictures if the patient can’t read. The contrast is much better for patients to see the letters, but can also be dimmed to check for glare or contrast problems. The system reduces patient memorization and can be used with the room lights on for added comfort. It also has a hearing impaired communication system for effective testing of patients with hearing difficulties.

Featuring a 19 inch, high-contrast LCD flat panel screen it offers a variety of features including: Wide range of optotypes, Random sequencing, Contrast sensitivity testing, patient education slides, and a cartoon loop with sound to entertain a 3 year old while testing.

Dr. Hiten Prajapati, Optometrist and owner of Morrisville, NC based Triangle Family Eye Care, says that his patients really take notice of this new technology. “It’s a great technology that makes no noise and takes up zero space in the exam rooms. Patients simply think it looks cool. It’s a far cry from someone holding an eye chart poster at the end of the room. Parents (and kids) love the picture mode for their child as it facilitates quicker and more accurate acuity testing.”

Dr. Prajapati adds that it helps improve patient care since with its advanced callibration, it gives the eye doctor more accurate results if someone has a problem seeing at distance.

It’s also effective assisting in explaining complicated scientfic cocepts to patients. “ClearChart 2 is great for patient education as it has several slides that help explain in layman terms myopia (or nearsightedness) and hyperopia (or farsightedness) is as well as various eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration”, Dr. Parajapati explains.
